Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency Announces May Business of the Month: Escape Day Spa & Boutique
The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency (URA) is proud to recognize Escape Day Spa & Boutique, located at 430 Broadway Street in Downtown Rock Springs, as the May 2026 Downtown Business of the Month.
The Downtown Business of the Month program was launched earlier this year through the URA’s Economic Vitality Committee as a way to recognize businesses that help strengthen and enhance the Downtown district through their appearance, customer service, community involvement, business practices, and overall contribution to the vitality of Downtown Rock Springs.
Businesses are evaluated using a scoring rubric developed by the committee, which includes categories such as storefront appearance and maintenance, merchandising and displays, customer experience, marketing and promotions, participation in Downtown events and initiatives, community engagement, and overall investment in the district.
Escape Day Spa & Boutique stood out to evaluators for its welcoming atmosphere, beautifully maintained storefront, strong customer experience, and continued commitment to Downtown Rock Springs. The business has become a popular destination for both self-care services and boutique shopping, helping attract residents and visitors alike to Broadway Street while creating a space focused on health, relaxation, wellness, and self-care.
“Escape Day Spa & Boutique is a great example of the type of business helping make Downtown a vibrant and inviting place,” said Maria Mortensen, chairwoman of the Rock Springs Main Street/URA. “From the care they put into their space to the experience they provide customers, they embody the spirit of reinvestment and pride we love seeing in Downtown.”
Owner Misty Hay said the recognition means far more than simply receiving an award.
“We are so honored and grateful to be named Downtown Business of the Month. This is something greater than an award — this is a testament to doing good and caring for others within the community we care so much about,” said Hay. “We are grateful for the opportunity to offer our community a place centered around health, relaxation, wellness, and self-care. Every person who walks through our doors is a reminder of why we love what we do.”
Hay also thanked the community for continuing to support local businesses and Downtown Rock Springs.

As part of the recognition, Escape Day Spa & Boutique will receive the Downtown Business of the Month traveling recognition items, including a feather flag and sandwich board to display outside their business throughout the month.
