π¦π± ROOTED IN ROCK SPRINGS: RSNB BANK
Some businesses have been part of Downtown Rock Springs for a few years. Others for a few decades. And then there's RSNB Bank, which has been growing alongside our community for more than 134 years!
Our next Rooted in Rock Springs feature is RSNB Bank, located at 200 Second Street in Downtown Rock Springs.
And when we talk about being rooted in our community, it doesn't get much more literal than this!
RSNB Bank opened its doors on June 10, 1892, originally operating as Rock Springs National Bank in a building on South Main Street across from the Union Pacific depot. That historic building still stands today, complete with its original "National Bank of 1892" engraving.
Think about how much Rock Springs has changed since then!
From the early coal mining days and the arrival of immigrant families to the development of our trona, oil, and natural gas industries, RSNB has been here through economic booms, downturns, and generations of growth.
And through it all, one thing has remained constant: RSNB is a locally owned community bank.
In fact, RSNB proudly identifies itself as Rock Springs' only locally owned community bank!
Today, the bank provides a wide range of financial services, including:
π° Personal banking β Checking, savings, and other everyday banking services.
π‘ Home and consumer loans β Helping individuals and families work toward important financial goals.
πͺ Business banking and lending β Providing financial services and financing options for local entrepreneurs and established businesses.
π Agricultural and commercial lending β Supporting industries that are important to southwest Wyoming.
But what makes a community bank special goes beyond its products and services.
It's about local relationships, local knowledge, and local decision-making.
RSNB's story is also closely tied to the Hay family, whose leadership helped guide the bank through much of the 20th century. Generations of employees and customers have helped carry that legacy forward, and today the bank continues under the leadership of President Jack Costantino.
We're especially proud of RSNB's longstanding investment in Downtown. When the bank opened its current headquarters in 2006, the project was recognized with the Rock Springs Urban Renewal Agency's Community Pride Award.
That investment demonstrated confidence in Downtown Rock Springs and helped reinforce the importance of keeping major employers and institutions in our city center.
And that's something we love celebrating!
Rooted in Rock Springs isn't just about the places where we shop or eat. It's also about the businesses and institutions that provide jobs, support entrepreneurs, invest in our community, and help build a stronger local economy.
RSNB Bank has been doing just that for more than a century.
So whether you're opening your first savings account, purchasing a home, or growing a business, remember that thinking local first can extend to your banking relationships, too!
Thank you to RSNB Bank and its employees for their continued investment in Rock Springs and for being part of our Downtown story for 134 years! β€οΈ
