Rock Springs URA Awards Facade Grants to Local Businesses in Las Americas Hispanic Business District
The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency (URA) recently presented facade improvement grants to two Pilot Butte Avenue businesses — Casa Chavez Mexican Restaurant and Crazy Chicks Embroidery & Laser Engraving — both located in the Las Americas Hispanic Business District.
Casa Chavez, located at 744 Pilot Butte Avenue, received a grant of $2,944 to assist with improvements to the large parking lot behind their business. The restaurant’s owners recently purchased the lot, which had previously been closed to the public, and reopened it as a public parking area for the neighborhood. The grant helped offset the cost of new road base material, improving access for customers and nearby businesses.
Crazy Chicks Embroidery & Laser Engraving, located at 748 Pilot Butte Ave., received a $1,162.03 grant to support recent facade upgrades to their storefront. These enhancements contribute to the continued revitalization of the Pilot Butte corridor, an area experiencing steady growth and investment through the Wyoming Blocks Program from the Wyoming Business Council/Wyoming Main Street.
Funds for the URA’s facade grant program are raised through Rock Springs Main Street/URA events held throughout the year. Over the organization’s nearly 20-year history, the URA has awarded more than $300,000 in facade improvement grants to local business and building owners — strengthening the heart of Downtown Rock Springs one project at a time.
