My Own Downtown - Mark Dale

Last Updated 12/16/2021

The perks for working at a bank can be very good. Banks are often a nice place to work.

According to Mark Dale, Branch Manager of First Bank of Wyoming in Rock Springs, he's enjoyed the years he's been with the bank and studying the history of the bank in Downtown.

"We've been in the same location for over 110 years," he shared.

Mark describes Downtown Rock Springs as a "nice park-like setting."

"The history of the area stands out," he explained. "but the main thing I like about Downtown is how clean and inviting it is comparing to other Downtown areas I've seen."

He added, "I see people walking their dogs daily, the historical tours provided, the mature trees and City flower planters, and the variety of shops and businesses."

Mark pointed out that one of the advantages of supporting small businesses is "you get to work with and see people you know!"

"Being in banking, I have personally seen the ripple effect that buying local has on our community," he expressed. "When we buy local, that support is then shared over and over within the immediate community."

Mark believes Downtown Rock Springs is steady and stable with some new growth.

Mark can't imagine having a different career in Downtown Rock Springs.

"I enjoy being involved in something that impacts everyone," he said. "I like to help customers determine and meet their financial needs."

Mark has seen others succeed from the first step to the very last step of the process.

"As a business banker, I enjoy learning from my clients, what they have done to build and succeed in their business," he said. "It's amazing to see the hard work, hours, determination, and creativity that helps our local businesses succeed through the good, bad and sometimes tough times. They don't get to where they are by accident."

Having a good relationship with his clients is very important to him.

"One of the best parts of my job is knowing customers by name and seeing them succeed over the years."

...And that's why Downtown Rock Springs is My Own Downtown.
