My Own Downtown - Pickin' Palace

     Dave Jensen and his talented crew at Pickin’ Palace, 553 North Front Street, can help students see music in a different light. They take a genuine interest in guiding students through their musical journeys. “I’ve liked music since I was a little kid,” Dave shared. “I played a little piano piece when I was in the third grade and after that, I thought it was cool to perform in front of other people and put a smile on everyone’s faces.”

     Dave and his son Todd see a great future in Downtown Rock Springs. “I like seeing the murals all around Downtown,” Todd began to say. “Art has really exploded in Downtown.”

     They have been “instrumental” in providing sound at many events around Downtown.

    “We’re always excited to participate in events that have live music – they really attract large crowds here,” Todd expressed.

     According to Dave, the difference in having a shop in a mall and having a shop at their current location in Downtown is the type of traffic they see.

     “The shoppers who come in to our store here know what they need,” Dave pointed out. “They are specifically coming to see us while at a mall, they’re going store-to-store and just browsing.”

     “More businesses are starting up in Downtown and that’s what will keep making it great!” Dave said.
