Rock Springs Main Street/URA Welcomes New Board Member Tim Robinson

Last Updated 9/18/2025

The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency (URA) is pleased to welcome Tim Robinson as the newest member of its Board of Directors; Tim was appointed by the Rock Springs City Council at their September 16, 2026 meeting. Robinson steps into the role previously held by Stacy Jones, whose term expired after nearly 14 years of dedicated service. Jones first joined the board in October 2011 and has been instrumental in supporting the organization’s efforts to strengthen and revitalize Downtown Rock Springs.

Robinson brings a wealth of experience in public service and community involvement. He moved to Rock Springs in 1991 when he began his career with the Rock Springs Police Department. Over nearly 29 years, he served as a uniformed patrol officer, detective, Field Training Officer, and later as a Sergeant, overseeing patrol, detectives, the Street Crimes Unit, and the training division before retiring in 2020.

Beyond his law enforcement career, Robinson has been actively engaged in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees, including the Southwest Counseling Board of Directors, Sweetwater County Drug Court, Sweetwater Family Resource Center, Red Desert Humane Society, and the Sweetwater Aquatics Team board. He currently serves on the Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, the Rods and Rails Car Show committee, and the Rock Springs Fire Civil Service Commission. He also represented the community as a Rock Springs City Council member from 2021 to 2025.

In his retirement, Robinson and his wife dedicate much of their time to animal rescue and transport efforts, fostering pets, and supporting the Red Desert Humane Society. When he’s not volunteering, he enjoys gardening, antiquing, and working on classic cars. He and his wife share their home with their two children, both attending the University of Wyoming, along with a rotating group of foster pets.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Tim to the board,” said Maria Mortensen, board chairwoman. “His deep commitment to Rock Springs and his decades of public service make him a tremendous asset to the Main Street/URA as we continue our work to grow and strengthen Downtown.”
