Rock Springs Celebrates 2024 Downtown First Award Winners

Last night Rock Springs came together to honor the remarkable recipients of the 10th annual Downtown First Awards, celebrating those who have made exceptional contributions to the city's core. With community spirit, volunteers, businesses, and individuals were lauded for their unwavering commitment to Downtown Rock Springs. This year's ceremony held special significance, commemorating a decade of recognizing those who prioritize the heart of the city.

This year’s awards showcased honorees who embody progress and community engagement:

  • Better Rock Springs Beautification Award: Studio Designs Floral & Co. (165 K Street), owned by Nichole Martin, was recognized for its transformative contributions to the streetscape, enhancing the charm and allure of Downtown Rock Springs through their captivating window displays and store-front presentation.
  • Outstanding Downtown Business: Broadway Burger Station at 628 Broadway Street is a beloved establishment renowned for its delicious menu and vibrant ambiance, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of Downtown Rock Springs.
  • Spirit of Downtown Award: Rock Springs Library (400 C Street), a steadfast advocate and collaborator, received acknowledgment for its dedication to community involvement and vibrancy, enriching the Downtown experience for all.
  • Outstanding New Business/Merchant: Boar's Tusk Steakhouse at 404 N Street emerged as a prime example of revitalization, breathing new life into the historic UP building and contributing significantly to the economic landscape of Downtown Rock Springs.
  • Outstanding Individual: Chris and Lindsay Sodderlund, owners of the historic Park Hotel/Park Lounge (19 Elk Street), were celebrated for their innovative approach to Downtown operations and their generous contributions to community initiatives and fundraisers.
  • Outstanding Volunteer: Deborah Burback was celebrated for her commitment to enhancing the Downtown atmosphere through tireless volunteer work, notably with the Blessing Box and Little Free Libraries, embodying the essence of community and service.
