๐๐ฑ ROOTED IN ROCK SPRINGS: STUDIO 307 DANCE CENTER
Sometimes, revitalizing Downtown starts with something as simple as an empty building, a big dream, and a few people willing to believe in both.
Our next Rooted in Rock Springs feature is Studio 307 Dance Center, a business that has spent the past 17 years helping young dancers build confidence, discover their talents, and create memories that last a lifetime.
And this story is about so much more than dance.
The dream began long before the studio opened its doors. Its founder fell in love with dance at just five years old and was already teaching by her early teens. She knew she wanted to share that passion with others, but turning that dream into a business would take a little help.
That opportunity came in 2009, when she walked into an empty building in Downtown Rock Springs and saw something special.
Where others might have seen a vacant space, she saw a dance studio filled with music, movement, laughter, and possibility.
Max Mickelson and Josh Bellamy, with Able Hands, saw that potential, too.
As the building's owners, Max and Josh believed in her vision and helped make it possible. Their willingness to support a new small business helped transform an empty Downtown building into a place that would positively impact hundreds of young people and families over the years.
What began as Just Dance Studio in 2009 eventually grew and evolved into the Studio 307 Dance Center that so many families know and love today.
And what a journey it's been!
Seventeen years of dance classes, recitals, competitions, friendships, celebrations, challenges, and unforgettable memories.
But perhaps the most meaningful part of Studio 307's story is what happens beyond the dance floor.
It's watching a shy little girl walk through the doors, barely willing to leave her parent's side, and seeing her grow into a confident young woman.
It's watching dancers accomplish things they never thought possible.
It's teaching young people about dedication, teamwork, perseverance, and believing in themselves.
Those are lessons that last long after the music stops. โค๏ธ
We're also especially proud that the Rock Springs Urban Renewal Agency has been able to play a small part in Studio 307's journey. Through our grant programs, including faรงade improvement assistance, we've helped support improvements to the building over the years.
And that's one of the things we love most about Downtown revitalization.
Sometimes an investment in a building becomes an investment in generations of people.
A vacant storefront becomes a thriving business. A young entrepreneur gets an opportunity. Families find a place to belong. And children grow up with experiences and friendships that shape who they become.
That's what Rooted in Rock Springs is all about.
Studio 307 is a wonderful example of what can happen when entrepreneurial determination meets community support. Its success reflects years of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication, along with the families, dancers, and community members who have supported that dream.
Seventeen years later, that once-empty building is filled with stories, accomplishments, and countless memories.
And we couldn't be happier that those roots were planted right here in Downtown Rock Springs.
Congratulations to Studio 307 Dance Center on 17 years of making a difference! Thank you for investing in Downtown, believing in our young people, and reminding us that sometimes the biggest transformations start with someone simply being given a chance.
When you're looking for activities and opportunities for your children, remember to think local first! Our local studios and instructors are helping shape the next generation of Rock Springs.
