White Mountain Ward Men's Group Named Rock Springs Main Street/URA July Volunteers of the Month
The Rock Springs Main Street/Urban Renewal Agency (URA) is proud to recognize the men's group from the White Mountain Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as its July Volunteers of the Month for their generous service helping prepare Downtown's beloved International Santas for the upcoming holiday season.
The group donated more than 30 hours of volunteer service in July, spending an evening painting and preparing the International Santas for display during this year's Christmas celebrations. Their efforts will help ensure the colorful collection is ready to welcome thousands of visitors to Downtown Rock Springs this holiday season.

The group shared that service is an important part of their faith and community: "Service is central to our faith—it's something we strive to live, not just talk about. We're thankful to be part of a wonderful community, and painting the Santas was a small way to give back while spending a fun evening together," said organizer Dylan Powell.
"The International Santas have become a favorite holiday tradition for so many families," said Chad Banks, Manager of Rock Springs Main Street/URA. "Preparing dozens of life-sized figures for display is no small task, and this group jumped in with enthusiasm and a willingness to help. Their generosity of time and talent will have a lasting impact on this year's Christmas season, and we're incredibly grateful."
Rock Springs Main Street/URA relies heavily on volunteers to bring its programs, events, and community improvement projects to life. From decorating Downtown and planting flowers to assisting with community events, public art projects, and beautification efforts, volunteers contribute hundreds of hours each year to help make Downtown Rock Springs a more vibrant place to live, work, and visit.
"Simply put, we couldn't do what we do without volunteers," Banks added. "Our organization is truly volunteer-based and volunteer-driven. The passion, generosity, and community spirit shown by individuals and groups like the White Mountain Ward men's group are what make so many of our projects possible. Their willingness to step up and serve makes a real difference in Downtown Rock Springs."
