Debora Thaxton Soulé Named March Volunteer of the Month by Rock Springs Main Street/URA

Last Updated 3/31/2025

We are proud to announce Debora Thaxton Soulé as our March Volunteer of the Month. A lifelong advocate for the arts and recent chair of our Arts and Culture Committee, Debora played a vital role in the success of March’s Arts Month programming and the Mayor’s Arts Awards.

Though she recently retired after serving 24 years as the director of the Community Fine Arts Center, Debora’s commitment to Rock Springs’ vibrant arts scene is as strong as ever. Her leadership and guidance on the Arts and Culture Committee have been instrumental not only this past month, but throughout the year. Her involvement extends to events like the annual Artists and Makers Market, and her passion continues to inspire.

Debora’s artistic journey began with a B.F.A. in clay and painting from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Over the years, she’s remained connected to the arts through many mediums—from operating a pottery studio and cartooning for GAF Viewmaster, to custom bridal designs, painting, and graphic design. A lifelong learner, she continues to explore new techniques, attend workshops, and study art and artists.

“Believing the arts feed our souls, I hope everyone finds a way to include visual or performing arts in their life,” she said.

We are grateful for Debora’s continued contributions to our community and her tireless support of arts and culture in Downtown Rock Springs.
