Meet the Snowman Stroll artists - Hilary Huckfeldt
Hilary Huckfeldt grew up in northeast Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in western Pennsylvania. She always had a love for the western states, so in 2013, she moved to Wyoming, living briefly in Pinedale and then settling down in Rock Springs. She works in the environmental field at a local trona mine, but has always had an artistic side. Hilary started oil and watercolor painting in 2016 and fell in love with it. One of her watercolor paintings is displayed as a wrap on one of the electrical boxes in Rock Springs, proudly displaying the majestic antelope. Hilary enjoys displaying art throughout the community for others to enjoy. Besides painting, she also enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, fishing, rockhounding, traveling, and geocaching.
"Melting Pot" truly encompasses the unique heritage of Rock Springs. Each of the 56 nationalities from the 1910 Census are represented on the snowman, as well as the state of Wyoming. Over 32 hours were put into creating Melting Pot. This colorful piece of art will bring cheer and a sense of heritage to the streets of downtown during the long Wyoming winter.
