Description
The public is invited to join the Sweetwater County Library System in kicking off its summer reading program with one of three reptile shows presented by Scales and Tails of Utah.

The 45-minute shows will feature creepy crawlies such as spiders and scorpions, lizards, a tortoise and snakes. Following the educational shows, those in attendance will be able to see some of the animals up close.

The shows are the kickoff events for the library system’s summer reading program. With a theme this summer of Color Our World, the summer reading program encourages people of all ages to read and track their reading throughout the summer when school is not in session.

The summer reading program runs from June 9 through August 9, and signups for the program start the week of June 2. The first 200 youth to sign up at the Sweetwater County Library in Green River, and the Rock Springs Library and White Mountain Library in Rock Springs will receive a tote bag to color and to carry their books in this summer.

Along with encouraging reading, the libraries are hosting activities throughout the summer to keep patrons of all ages engaged in learning while school is not in session. For a complete list programs, check out the library’s summer event guide.
