In July of 2009, the City of Rock Springs began construction on the M Street Underpass.   The project consists of approximately 640 feet of demolition and reconstruction.  Reconstruction plans include an upgrade of th storm sewer, retaining walls, lighting, fencing, pedestrian walkway through the underpass, and a large ornamental gateway sign that will span the lengh ot the bridge.  A spring feature will be located along the Northern side of the underpass that will convey groundwater to the structure made of stone and concrete.  The project is expected to be completed in summer 2010.
